In 2002, Deni founded the Maui Yoga Path at the Mana Kai Maui in Kīhei, creating a beachfront sanctuary for students to deepen their practice, restore balance, and cultivate clarity, strength, and joy.
A devoted Iyengar Yoga practitioner and teacher, Deni Roman has trained directly with the Iyengar family in Pune, India, sixteen times, dedicating a total of over four years of intensive study at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India.
With a long history as a movement teacher since the mid-1980s—rooted in dance, body conditioning, and alignment-based training—Deni blends the discipline and precision of Iyengar Yoga with fluid, intelligent movement to improve mobility and fluidity.
Her classes, including Gentle Beach Yoga, Iyengar Yoga and Yoga & Movement, are thoughtfully sequenced to build strength, mobility, and balance while calming the nervous system, offering a practice that is both grounding and uplifting.
You can also study with Deni through her Vimeo On Demand class recordings, available anytime, anywhere.

“The path of yoga is such that both discipline and freedom are found in it. If discipline is the root, then freedom is the fruit. In yoga on the beach Maui, discipline and freedom, freedom and discipline go hand in hand. This balance can also be experienced in Kihei Maui yoga, where the serene environment enhances your practice. Whether you choose to engage in Maui beach yoga or explore the yoga path Maui, you'll discover the harmony that these elements bring.” B.K.S. Iyengar

"If you pluck the base for a small plant, it will not grow. The root becomes firm from the base points, much like how kihei maui yoga helps you establish a solid foundation. The base will make you do more, just as practicing maui beach yoga can expand your capabilities. The gate is open for you to explore the yoga path maui offers, including the bliss of yoga on the beach maui." -Geetaji Iyengar
