Deni is a rare yoga teacher who infuses a lifetime of diverse experiences into her teachings.
She was a pioneer during the 1980s fitness boom, owning several aerobic studios and gyms and competing in national aerobics, bodybuilding, and racquetball competitions.
In the mid-1970s, Deni began studying Kundalini Yoga, which she practiced for ten years until discovering Iyengar Yoga. Thus began five decades of practicing, learning, and teaching Iyengar Yoga, including traveling to Pune, India, fifteen times to train with B.K.S Iyengar, his daughter Geeta, and son Prashant.
In 2002, Deni founded the Maui Yoga Path. An influential yoga studio for Maui locals and tens of thousands of visitors, some of whom return year after year for Deni's classes.
Deni’s teaching style is precise and detailed, focusing on posture alignment and life balance. Her clear communication, humor, and warmth come through as she motivates her students to develop their personal practice, leaving each class with their hearts filled.
In addition to teaching at the Maui Yoga Path, Deni leads workshops and teacher training across the globe.

Attending Deni Roman's Iyengar yoga classes has been amazing. Deni is the instructor I would highly recommend to anyone at any practice level, from beginner to advanced. Her depth of knowledge is shown through her detailed direction for each pose, keen awareness of each student's capabilities, and the pacing of the asanas. I no longer feel pain when I climb out of bed in the morning, and my sense of balance, both inner and outer, has truly changed my life. Namaste, Marlena, Maui
