Deni is an Iyengar yoga teacher certified from B.K.S.Iyengar.
Deni's teaching style is clear, detailed, motivating, fun and from her heart. She is highly intuitive and provides a safe, supportive atmosphere that guides you to your highest potential. She brings a deep sense of spiritual practice and awareness to her masterful teaching.
I first connected to the practice of yoga over twenty years ago when I experienced directly the profound transformational benefits on my body, mind and emotions. I have been practicing and studying ever since.
I have been teaching classes at The Maui Yoga Path for seven years and studied directly as a student/teacher for over eight years with Deni. Deni’s devotion to consistently deepen her practice, self-cultivation and to her student’s evolution are a continued source of inspiration.
I find inspiration through my yoga, dance and meditation practices, nature, art, music, as certified Thai massage therapist, the art of ceremonial scent anointing, gardening, poetry, lucid dreaming, and improvisational comedy.

I had the great pleasure of taking several of Kristin's classes, Her cues, sequencing and peaceful manner were perfect and worked so well in aligning my body during the hour. Smooth and relaxing. I always looked forward to coming to her next class. Simply the BEST! We are excited to be returning to Maui in February for whale watching! For sure, I look forward to signing up for Kirstin's classes again. Mahalo nui loa, Peace & Blessings, -Mary-Lou
My yoga journey began approximately 25 years ago, and I started teaching in 2010. A perpetual student and seeker,
I have completed multiple Yoga Teacher Training Programs, and currently hold a 500 hour RYT Certification through Yoga Alliance.
I began studying Iyengar Yoga with Deni in 2014, and had the good fortune of being invited to teach at Maui Yoga Path in 2016.
In Deni, I knew I had found a true teacher and mentor who continues to inspire, challenge and motivate me to take my practice and teaching to the next level.
I teach an all levels alignment based Sunrise Beach Yoga class that is well rounded and tailored to the participants, in addition to being a beautiful way to start the morning!
My goal is to inspire and empower my students to connect with their body wisdom and their own inner teacher on their journey to optimal health vitality and wholeness.
My yoga journey began when I was a new Mother and working. I thought yoga would help me find balance. I realized I was starting at the beginning to build strength to be able to do the asanas. I am grateful to that first teacher who helped me build strength and learn to love yoga. I practiced different types of yoga each providing me with different awareness and opportunity.
I wandered into a class with Deni Roman on Maui some 20 years ago and have been wandering in to her classes, personal growth workshops and Iyengar Workshops ever since. Deni helped me to understand how to work with my body and gain more clarity through her teaching. I began to love yoga even more.
I wanted to understand yoga in depth and began attending Iyengar Teacher Training here in Denver. What a journey. This was many years of work, development, experimenting and practicing. The only way to achieve something is go through through it.
In 2017, I received my Iyengar Certification. This was the end and the beginning. I am still learning, loving and appreciating the fine nuances of yoga, our unique bodies, and how to teach those in front of me. We are each unique and special. It is my hope that I am able to share the gift of yoga through my learning and make yoga accessible to who ever I teach. I continue to practice, sub, and study.
This year I attended the National Iyengar Convention in Dallas where Abhijata Siridar, Iyengar's granddaughter, inspired me with her stories, passion, teaching and great courage.
I am humbled to return to Maui Yoga Path in August to teach at the beautiful beachfront studio.
