Deni's teaching style is clear, detailed, motivating, fun and from her heart. She is highly intuitive and provides a safe, supportive atmosphere that guides you to your highest potential. She brings a deep sense of spiritual practice and awareness to her masterful teaching.
A St. Louis-native, Deni moved to Maui in 1999 to practice and teach yoga in paradise. She is the proud mother of her daughter Evan and son Benton. She knew from childhood that she wanted to be a teacher and holds a B.A. in Speech Communications from Emerson College, Boston, MA.
Her many years of study and dedication in dance and athletics gave her a strong and disciplined foundation in living a healthy and balanced lifestyle. She competed in national bodybuilding, aerobics, racquetball, and marathons. For eight years Deni studied Kundalini Yoga with Yogi Bhajan while living in St. Louis. Upon moving to Maui Deni took workshops with Yogi Amrit Desai and Pattabhi Jois.
In the late 80s, Deni experienced her first Iyengar Yoga class and was taken by the depth of the teachings. In 1999 after studying for four months at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India guided by BKS Iyengar, son Prashant and daughter Geeta Iyengar, the course of her life - to look deeply within was set. She has had the honor and blessings to study fifteen times a total of almost four years in India with the Iyengar family. Being a spiritual seeker Deni has traveled to holy and sacred sights throughout India, Nepal, Egypt and Israel.
